Tuna Can
Paraffin Wax or Old candle Wax
Cardboard (preferably thick)
- Heat your wax in a pan make sure it is nice and warm and liquid
- While that is heating make sure your can is cleaned out
- Cut the cardboard so that it is in long rectangle pieces just a bit taller than the height of your can
- Roll the Cardboard TIGHTLY around the inside of the can. Remember this is your burning material so the more you can get in there more heat will be put off.
- Once you have your can prepared with cardboard, CAREFULLY poor the hot wax over the top.
- Let stand until wax cools and hardens
To Use:
- Light the cardboard with a match, if you have the make shift stove throw it over the top, if not just cook or warm carefully.
- Blow out, or stomp out when done, these can be reused if you are careful about how you put them out and store them.
Tip: If you are using old candle wax to conserve funds or just save the planet remember that scent can effect the outcome so unscented or used so many times the wax has no scent candles will work best.
Thanks to my Dad who taught me this as a kid
