My Vision for Life

When I, Julia, began this journey of being a wife and mother I had an idea of what I wanted that to look like, I figured my Mom is ...

How to Waterproof Your Own Matches

This is so simple to do and even fun, and it saves you a bundle rather than buying waterproofed matches from the store.
You can even collect the little matchbooks and water proof them if you want for free.

Ingredients

Matches
Paraffin Wax or Old Candle Wax

  1. Heat your wax to liquid state
  2. Drop matches in whole to water proof entire match, or if conserving wax just dip the tips where the starter is.
  3. Pull out with tongs or a fork if proofing the entire match, don't burn yourself! The matches don't need to be in long at all! Just a Coating so don't cook them.
  4. Lay matches out on paper plate or cookie sheet, foil etc. until wax dries and hardens, put matches in box or other container to store for emergency use.
See wasn't that fun and simple, that was even family home evening fun as a kid before we all went to camp.

Thanks Again to my Dad who taught us as children.
