My Vision for Life

When I, Julia, began this journey of being a wife and mother I had an idea of what I wanted that to look like, I figured my Mom is ...

My Birthday #24

(Another post that got deleted at some point but hopefully is just as good rewritten)

MY 24TH BIRTHDAY!!!

To start out I will admit that even by my standards, I was beyond stressed when my birthday rolled around, but guess what? I have an amazing husband and this blog entry is pretty well a written list of my activities that day and a brag of how sweet my hunksband can be when he tries just a little :p

To begin lets mention the fact that when Will gets excited he really cannot contain himself and will lavish me with a birthday gift pretty well once a week for a month until its actually by birthday, just because he is excited its coming! So when I woke up on May 28, 2011, I already had been given an Ipod touch, an Ipod station for the kitchen, and a glee album...

But despite that....

  • I got to sleep in!!!
  • At least until Will couldn't take it any more and had to go and get the cake
  • He bought this cake days in advance and duct taped it shut in the fridge so I couldn't peak.
  • So I woke up to my husband singing "Happy Birthday" ...in my favorite outfit of his ;)....
  • The cake was a tuxedo chocolate mousse cake for two! Yep that's right I know how to pick a man who can pick em!
  • We ate cake in bed until we got a call from some friends of ours, a young couple with two kids who needed a ride to Waco. We took the opportunity for service and hopped in the truck.
  • On the way, Will stopped and got me a very sweet card and a bouquet of red roses :)
  • We played with the kids the whole way up to Waco! This service project alone would have made my day....
  • We get there and our destination is a Flea Market!!!  We said hello to our friend's family, who insisted I take a bag of food from their stand, and said goodbye to our friends.
  • As I thought we were leaving Will hands me a small bit of cash and tells me to get whatever I want, happy birthday, but don't spend it all here because we have another place to go.
  • We walked around and I got a pair of shorts for Will Jr.... A beautiful peach flower clip for my hair... and a cast iron plaque for our house that says "In God We trust--All Others Pay Cash"
  • We got in the truck and our next stop was the Mall... Perfume shop to get a bottle of the stuff I wore when I stepped off the plane the first time in Killeen, and when Will proposed., Then to the Kitchen Gadget Store (where I could live lol) where I got an apple shaped apple slicer, and Coke salt and pepper shakers to match our glasses., Then to Bath and Bodyworks where we sniffed until we couldn't anymore and got two three wick candles, hand soap for the bathroom, lotion sanitizer for me, hand sanitizer for me, and a patriotic holder for that sanitizer. My first month as a nurse is gonna smell good :)
  • Then we poked around the gun and knife shop and  few other places with no purchases and watched the kiddos play in a wind tunnel.
  • We were on our way out the door where I stopped to look at just one little outfit, when Will announced, that he got me Netflix!!
  • We head out to the truck and discuss food options because as we all know a long day of shopping no matter how fun can make you very hungry!
  • I wanted BBQ but since we couldn't find the place we were looking for we ended up at Texas Roadhouse where I was not allowed to see the check and was asked to sit on a saddle and swing a cloth napkin over my head while my birthday was commemorated in song...
  • We headed back to Fort Hood but before we crossed the gates Will decided we had to stop at Barnes and Noble in Harker Heights, where I got two cookbooks which each had three cookbooks in them on sale!
  • I WENT HOME A SPOILED LADY WITH A SWEET HUSBAND WHO GAVE UP HIS WHOLE DAY TO SHOP WITH ME!!!!
Though everything hit the fan when I walked through the door it was a beautiful, wonderful, spoiled rotten day I will never forget! I love it when I get to spend the day with the man I love ... The man who would do whatever it takes, to make sure I am happy, even though he knows he doesn't have to do nearly as much as he does to succeed at it.
