5 gallon bucket
1 bar soap
1 cup wash soda
1/2 cup borax
Grater
Water
- Grate the entire bar of soap into fine pieces
- Boil 4 cups of Water
- Slowly add soap to boiling water, making sure to get rid of any clumps you can
- Add 3gallons of warm water to the 5gallon bucket, if its not exact that is okay just try.
- Add the soap and boiling water mixture to warm water
- Stir to be sure all clumps are gone
- Add Baking Soda
- Stir for about one minute
- Add Borax
- Stir for another minute or so until consistency is reached, could be gel like, liquid or even clumpy depending on soap used, just experiment to see what works best for you.
Use one cup per every full load
Making this particular mixture will save you roughly $8 per batch cutting cost by 85% and leaving you with less than a penny per load for cost if you play your cards right. Hardware stores will give you the best for your dollar.
